Star Fling (“we”, “our”, “the game”) is a casual mobile and web game developed by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

When you submit a score to the public leaderboard, we collect:

• The nickname you enter (1–20 characters of your choosing).
• Your score, number of stars, game mode, and game duration.
• The two-letter country code derived from your IP address (e.g. “US”, “CN”) for the country flag shown next to your name.
• Your IP address, which is used solely for spam-prevention rate limiting and is not displayed publicly.

If you do not submit a score, no personal information leaves your device. Game progress, high scores, and your nickname are stored locally on your device using browser localStorage.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not collect your real name, email, phone number, or any contact information.
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or analytics that track you across apps and websites.
• We do not collect device identifiers (IDFA, advertising IDs, etc.).
• We do not access your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, calendar, location, or health data.

How we use the information

• To display the public leaderboard (nickname, country flag, score, stars).
• To prevent spam and abuse via per-IP rate limiting.

Data storage and retention

Leaderboard data is stored on Cloudflare D1 in the United States. We retain scores indefinitely so historical leaderboards remain available. You may request deletion of your scores by contacting us.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. The only public data is what appears on the leaderboard (nickname, country flag, score, stars).

Children

Star Fling is rated suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted a score and you would like it removed, contact us.

Your rights

You can play the game without ever submitting a score, in which case no data leaves your device. If you have submitted scores and want them deleted, contact us with the nickname you used.

Changes

If we change this policy in the future, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be announced in-game.
